List of the best shopping malls in Sofia, Bulgaria – the biggest, the best for shopping experience and the best for entertainment

The Bulgarian capital Sofia has become one of the biggest cities on the Balkans with growing population of over 2 million people. It is now the IT capital of Eastern Europe and also one of the best places to visit for shopping reasons. Thy city hosts more than 6 large shopping centers and here is a list with the top 3 we picked:

Ring Mall, Sofia – Ring Mall is one of the latest and also the biggest shopping mall in Sofia.  This shopping center was opened on 6 November 2014. It is located on  69 000 sq. m. on Ring Road, Sofia. Ring Mall Sofia hosts variety of popular brands as well as large food court, couple of restaurants and cinema.

Recently Area 52 opened in Ring mall. This is the biggest trampoline park in Sofia. It offers a fun experience for children and adults alike.

The mall is very close to IKEA (almost connected to the Swedish furniture store). Sofia Ring Mall impresses with attractive design and large, roomy interior and you may get the impression that you might be taking a walk on the street thanks to the light and airy design.

Some consider Ring Mall together with Paradise Center to be the biggest malls in Sofia, which is really bigger I would advise you to check by visiting them from 10:00 to 22:00 in the evening. Both these malls offer good food courts and cinema centers.

Paradise Center, Sofia – build in 2013 this shopping center turned into one of the most crowded shopping areas in Sofia. This mall hosts many of the world’s popular brand’s stores, cafes, restaurants and large entertainment area with playground and cinema.  Paradise Center spreads on 208 000 sq.m. of space and is one of the largest on the Balkans. One of its latest benefits is the underground station that located withing the mall itself.

Serdika Center, Sofia – Serdika Center Sofia is one of the biggest shopping centers in Bulgaria. It was opened in 2010 and since than it turned in one of the fashion places in S0fia – fashion brands like Zara, H&M, New Yorker and many others have their stores in Serdika Center. The mall itself has a very nice panoramic rooftop parking. There is a moderate food court and couple of restaurants but this shopping center is lacking cinema or any other entertainment activities, so it is pure shopping. With the main structure of the building there is a large office center, home for many call centers.

I would also recommend you to check The Mall, Sofia which is located at 115 Tsarigradsko Shose.  It was opened in 2010 and until 2013 The Mall was considered the largest shopping mall in the Balkans. The Mall has a total built area of 66,000 sq.m. (710,000 sq ft) on six stories, three of which are underground. It has around 180 shops, restaurants, recreations centers, bars, cafeterias and parking capacity for more than 2,800 vehicles.

We hope this you found this list of the best shopping malls in Sofia useful. Please let us know if you have already visited any of these, do you have any impressions and which of the listed above is your favorite shopping center in the Bulgarian capital?

Thanks for your feedback, Jim. Shopping in Sofia is really good thanks to the malls listed above. I personally like all of them for various reasons. Serdika Center is good only for shopping purposes, Ring mall is big enough for a nice long walk and having fun at the carting or cinema and Paradise is good for both fun and shopping.

Sofia is not among the most beautiful cities in Europe but it is definitely good for shopping with the big shopping centers. From the listed above I would rate highest Paradise center and Ring mall, Serdika center comes third. Bulgaria mall is way too small and The Mall on Tsarigradsko shose is OK.
