Christmas is Europe’s favorite holiday so Christmas bazaars are very popular on the continent. Similar to Germany and Austria, Bulgaria‘s capital hosts a holiday bazaar this year as well.


Sofia’s Christmas bazaar is located in the center of the city between National Theater “Ivan Vazov” and the National Art Gallery:

How to get there:

  • Using the subway (Metro Line A) – get off at metro station Serdika and walk by boulevard “Tsar Osvoboditel” in the direction of the National Theater about 500 m (6-7 minutes)
  • Bus lines 1, 2, 3 or 4 stop directly in front of the bazaar (stop is called Alexander I)
  • Trolleybus 9 – get off at stop Alexander Nevsky and walk around 2 minutes
