The HDR-XR260 can record videos with maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 with fast 50 frames per second. This camcorder can also make 5MP still photos.
Sony HDR-XR260 has 30x optical zoom and massive 350x digital zoom.
For this camcorder Sony uses the Exmor R CMOS sensor which reduces noise significantly. The BIONZ processor takes car of the fast processing of the images.
Sony HDR-XR260 can record videos in a variety of shooting modes. One very nice feature of this camcorder is the Dolby Digital 5.1 channel sound recording which give a professional touch to the device. The surround sound microphone does a very good job as well.
Sony HDR-XR260 is a hard drive camcorder with 160GB of internal storage space. This device can also be used with Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo Mark2, Stick PRO-HG Duo, SD Card, SD , SDHC, SDXC, SDXC memory cards.
Sony HDR-XR260 has a 3-inch rotating LCD display which is quite good for use in any light conditions.
The camera is quite compact and considering it has a built-in hard drive the weight of 355g is quite acceptable.
