Ford Mondeo 2013 video preview, info and specs
The all new fifth generation Ford Mondeo 2013
Ford Mondeo 2013 - so here it is, the fifth generation of one of the most popular mid-sized cars in Europe and some other parts of the world. The latest generation Ford Mondeo is completely redesigned and inside and out for 2013 with new fresh looks and plenty of new features.
The car was first presented at the 2012 North American International Auto Show where it is also called Ford Fusion. Many of the styling exterior lines are taken form the concept Ford Evos concept which we saw last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 2013 Ford Mondeo will be offered in sedan/liftback and estate versions. The exterior design is completely different from the previous generation Mondeo but it isn’t a step back for the Ford’s kinetic design which dominates in both European and American models.
The range engines for the new fifth generation Mondeo includes two diesel and three petrol engines. All of them have very good fuel economy figures but probably the three cylinder 1.0 EcoBoost petrol engine is the most noticeable of all. This turbo engine is part of the downsizing trend that not only Ford but also many other companies are following these days. The other two petrol engines include 1.6 EcoBoost and 2.0 EcoBoost and the diesels are 1.5 and 2.0 liters. There is also going to be a hybrid model.
The 2013 Ford Mondeo will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission for the Mondeo 1.6 EcoBoost and 6-speed automatic with manual mode for the rest of the model line.
Probably the new 2013 Mondeo will be available in Ford’s showrooms in the beginning of next year, until then the Ford Mondeo Mk IV will be still for sale at very competitive prices.
